Four major routes getting new express trains in Thailand
The latest in Thailand Travel news is that on four major routes the new express trains with latest facilities are being put on. It is anticipated that due to this change Thailand railways will attract around 1 million people in a year and will be able to generate up to 1,250 million baht per year. First, two express trains on two major routes have already been inaugurated. The first two will be running between Bangkok and Chiang Mai and Bangkok and Ubon Ratchathani. The new facilities are these train coaches are CCTV, power outlets and toilets that have designed to be used by disabled. The dual railway system is under construction and once it is completed these trains will able to run at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour and take people to their destination three hours faster. The two other routes that will be inaugurated from December 2nd are to Nong Khai and Hat Yai
Grand Palace re-opened
The Grand Palace was closed after the death of King Bhumibol Adulyadej in October. On November 1st the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha Temple in Bangkok re-opened their doors to all visitors and tourists. Thailand is in an official mourning period and so the people visiting the palace should wear respectable attire.
The Grand Palace is open for the tourists from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm every day but entry and exit is allowed only from the Wiset Chaisri Gate. At the entry point, the security will check and ask to show a passport or a copy from the visitors.
Thailand hosting the first “Air Race 1” in the Asia-Pacific
Next in Thailand Travel news is that the country will be hosting the first Air Race 1 in the complete Asia-Pacific area. Many races will happen at the venue, the eastern region of the U-tapao airfield of Royal Thai Navy on the 19th and 20th of November 2016. Ministry of Tourism and ministry of Sports of Thailand along with the Sports Authority of the country will host the Air Race. This race will have eight airplanes which will race fly at one time at speeds as high as 450 kmph. Air Race 1 is like just like Formula 1 racing with airplanes and is gaining popularity all around the world.
World’s Most Visited City is Bangkok
As per the sixth Index of MasterCard Global Destinations, Bangkok has been called as World’s most visited city on a number of international arrivals in 2016.This index has 132 most visited cities on it. Bangkok is at number one for 2016 with forecasted 21.47 million visitors from abroad followed by London, Paris, and Dubai.
Nakhon Pathom has a new airplane flea market
An “Airplane Flea Market” has opened and there are many airplanes and military vehicles presented in displays. This market is on Wednesday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m at Malaiman Road that lies in mid of Nakhon Pathom and Suphanburi.
