Phuket is the largest island in Thailand but the second smallest province and is located on the south of Thailand. In Phuket, there are a number of islands which are very interesting for families and couples to visit.
Phi Phi Island
The Phi Phi Island receives tourists from all over the world as compared to other islands around it due to its large number of lovely bays and beaches. There is lush tropical vegetation and crystal clear waters. One can get to the island through a forty five minutes speed boat or through a ninety minutes ferry boat from Phuket. Phi Phi is a group of six islands which include Phi Phi Leh, Phi Phi Don, Koh Yung, Ko Mai Phai, and Ko Bida Nok.
It is also known as Koh Hae.During the day there are a lot of activities as compared to during the night. In coral island there are two main beaches which are banana beach and long beach.
Similan Island; It takes two hours by minibus or one and a half hours by speedboat to get to this island.
Koh Bon Island is a two minutes ride from Phuket and one can take a longtail boat to reach it when coming from Rawai Beach.
Racha Island is an attraction site mostly for divers since there is a very clear dive site. In Racha there are three resorts which are The Racha, Baan Raya Resort and Rayaburi resort.
Koh Khai. It only takes fifteen minutes from the East coast of Phuket. Most of the people go there to play in the clear waters and in this island it is illegal to feed the many hungry fishes.
Maiton island. The Island is located on the south of Phuket with thousands of fish in it.
Koh Panyi Island. The island is very interesting to visit. It is near James Bond Island. There are no many tourists in this island in the early morning. There is a lot of fishing that takes place in this island.
Koh Hong Island is a small island that belongs to the National Marine Park. There are monkeys and birds that are easily spotted. One thing that attracts the visitors most is the fishes that mostly love to play around with the visitors.
Koh Yao Island consists of two islands that are found between Phuket and Krabi. It’s east coast has rice fields and a few rubber plantations.
Rang Yai Island. It is a private island where one can experience a Robinson Crusoe lifestyle, one can camp and still there is kayaking and bike climbing or even visit a pearl farm.
Koh Kaeo. In this island there are two signs which are the two large golden Buddha’s where one is sitted and the other one is standing and a small temple on top of the hill.
Koh Maphrao. It is also known as Coconut Island and has been built in the recent years.
Koh Sirey. It is connected to Phuket by a very short bridge.
